A Disappointing Family
In 1857, Michael Calem's great great grandfather Peter Calem started his own chicken-harvesting business in Magnolias, Arkansas. For a time it seemed like Michael's great grandfather David would follow in his father's footsteps. However, David would often times get very ill after handling and eating chicken. Therefore, David pursued interests outside of the harvesting business, but still carrying the Calem Corporation name. He opened his own pencil shop, which met with only limited success. Michael Calem learned of his rich family history after finding one of his great great grandfather's pencils, still in perfect condition. (Unfortunately, his great grandfather's pencils had all perished in a mysterious fire) Michael Calem then pursued college studies and became a motivational speaker, finally bringing pride to his family's name.
Mike And Melanie: Pro-Choices, Big Money
Writers Depository was a baby born by accident when the owner Michael Calem decided he was tired of working. He delivered a powerful speech one day to park-dwelling patrons explaining that America should be a place of peace, freedom and relaxation, otherwise we are just "slaving day to day so we can die." This speech impressed aspiring businesswoman Melanie Noeth who had already been planning to start her own company focusing on women's issues. Michael Calem met Melanie and explained that he is a big supporter of womens' rights and cultivated friendships with many overweight and lesbian women. Michael Calem wanted his new online magazine to focus on womens' issues whereas Melanie had experience in dealing with men's magazines.
An Unwanted Baby
After brainstorming for a few hours, Michael and Melanie realized that a magazine that targets men and women of various ages would be the perfect marketing plot. Their first publication "Men And Women Today" was a limited series that lasted 6 months, providing provocative insight into the lives of men and women living in a contemporary society. The magazine ended according to schedule in 2005. Michael Calem then pursued other endeavors outside of employment, while Melanie became a full time freelance writer. Melanie soon outgrew many of the SEO companies she worked with, realizing most of the money to be made was in outsourcing material to beginning writers and rewriting other company's content.
A Child That Deserved To Live
With Melanie's new ambition and Michael Calem's renewed interest in working as a professional, the fertilization process of Writers Depository began. Michael and Melanie made contact and soon a baby was born. Melanie put together a staff of talented writers while Michael took care of the legal side of the business. It was Michael's decision to hire the experienced Acquisitions Editor James Ivan Kingsley, hoping to class up the "online magazine" of today's amateur Internet.
Michael's motivation and Melanie's inspiration have turned their newest project Writers Depository into an eclectic clinic of writing excellence. Whereas many web-content companies these days are unreliable and abort projects without notice, Writers Depository offers true love and acceptance to its clients. (Our headquarters is the big one on the left -- not the ugly brown one) We want you to be 100% satisfied with our services and to feel appreciated and safe in our smooth, gentle hands. Satisfaction is paramount in life and if we're not happy in our lives, then as Michael always said, we might as well be dead. Life, what a beautiful choice! Writers Depository is not just about business it's about life.
