I have to agree. So many new writers make amateur mistakes. It is embarrassing. Take some advice from an editor who has had 5 years of publishing experience.
1.Please spell correctly. Editors hate it when you cannot spell. I have been known to stop reading manuscripts that have multiple errors in them.
2.Please write well. I hate it when you writers don't write well. If your manuscript or query letter loses my interest I stop reading. So please learn how to write.
3.Please be write a query letter and please send the editor either a SASE or an email. I cannot tell you how often I receive queries written in crayons or yellow paper with smiley faces all over it. Be a professional. Please.
Now that's about $200.00 worth of advice. And yes I may well send an invoice to you writers. This is what gets people published!
Good day.

4. Kiss a lot of arse and suck up to anyone who will print you, whether they pay you or not. That's five hundred dollars worth of advice folk, that I just passed out for free. I won't send out invoices, just bask in your eternal gratitude. ;D
