Hi gang, it's Melanie. Whenever I interview new writers for jobs within the company I always ask them what are the advantages of telecommuting? Because our writers are literally scattered all over the world. Telecommuting is the "new age" of Internet employment. It offers freelance writers some very good advantages to being stuck in a work office. Like, the ability to spend time with lovers or families in between breaks. You can work in casual clothing. Mothers can breastfeed their children while writing or taking calls. It's almost like sleeping in while you are working! I remember when working my old customer service jobs for Teletech.com I wasn't even awake in the morning when I took those first 50 calls. I must have messed up a lot of people's credit. Yikes! (Lucky for me Teletech hires anyone no matter how much they screw up customer's business!) But there are also disadvantages to working at home. There is no comamraraderie with other workers. There's no teasing or office horseplay. There are no office flings when you work at home, unless you and your husband are both working call center jobs! ]Believe me, I slept with half of the call center temp staff when I worked with CitiFinancial. Oh boy I tell you. I dared a friend to write this in code. You're not really reading this are you?
The point is, telecommuting jobs and freelance writing are the wave of the future! It is expansive and progressive. Positive and proactive. And that's what Writers Depository is all about. The telecommuting experience!
On a side note, we have received some complaints about the comic strips by Jack Ashley. Rest assured, the office did hear your concerns and have promised to monitor his strips more closely. Thanks for all the support guys!!!!!!!
